Reflection

As I researched more and more, I realized how essential it is to understand the potential there is in technology. More than learning about the wonders of internet surfing which was already apparent to me, I began to comprehend the magnitude of information available that is not completely true and reliable but yet is so easily accessible.
Using the library databases, though at first seemed complicated and unnecessary, proved to be much more useful when creating my annotated bibliography than the immense search results of Google which would have given me various useless sites in addition to the pertinent ones. Though I can honestly say that most likely I will be quick to Google a key word as I am accustomed to doing, I think that if I need to do more intensive research on a topic, I will not hesitate to use the databases.
While completing the bibliography, I started to automatically check for the criteria proving that the source was of value to me. It is important to develop the skill of correct evaluation within information literacy as a student because of the frequency with which I will seek to access, think about, use and apply information. A teacher would also need to know and be familiar with this skill because he or she is first a student, as well as because the educator must be able to appropriately guide students' research and learning.
